This policy covers the website binoxxo.pro and the Binoxxo Pro app for iOS and Android. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

In short

• You need no account. We do not know your name.
• Your puzzles, photos, times and credits are stored only on your device and never sent to us.
• On the website we show ads from Google. Ads are only personalised if you agree.

Data on your device

Saved games, photos of newspaper puzzles, play times and your credit balance are kept in the storage of your browser or device. If you clear the website data or remove the app, they are gone. We have no access to them.

Camera and photos

The app asks for access to the camera or photo library when you photograph a puzzle or pick a picture. The picture is resized and straightened on your device and is not uploaded.

Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by Metanet AG in Switzerland. On each visit the server stores technically necessary details such as IP address, time, page and browser type in log files. They keep the service secure and are deleted after a short time.

Ads with Google AdSense

On the website we show ads through Google AdSense by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google may use cookies and similar techniques for this and process data such as your IP address and details about your device, also in the USA. Google is certified under the Data Privacy Framework, which counts as adequate protection for Switzerland and the EU.

On your first visit a notice from Google asks whether you allow personalised ads. Without consent Google only shows non-personalised ads. You can change your choice here at any time: Open privacy settings. More: How Google uses cookies in advertising and Google privacy policy.

We show no ads while you solve a puzzle.

Ads in the app

The app shows an ad banner from Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited) on the start screen. There are no ads while you solve a puzzle. On first launch, a notice from Google asks whether you allow personalised ads, where the law requires it. Without consent, Google shows only non-personalised ads or none at all. You can change your choice any time in the app under Profile → Ad settings. On iPhones the app does not ask to track you and does not read the advertising ID. Otherwise the same rules as for AdSense above apply.

With the "No ads, for life" purchase you no longer see ads in the app. Apple or Google handle the payment. We receive no payment details.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its processing. Write to info@sidefyn.ch. You can also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, to the supervisory authority of your country.

Changes

When the app changes, we update this policy. The version on this page applies.
